Now with Will at just over 3 1/2 and Toby at 16mths they delight us everyday with what they are learning and teaching each other!
Will has the best little conversations and spits out things that amazes us… we are surprised that he retains so much information and can interpret what we would think are more complex situations..
He is able to write his name and is starting to to know numbers on the clock and understand concept of time..
He dresses himself, brushes his teeth, makes his bed, puts his clothes in the laundry basket, cleans up after himself, puts his shoes on has just started wiping his bottom and washing his hands without prompting. He has lovely manners and uses them most of the time without prompting which just melts our hearts!!
He is enrolled in ready steady go kids and loves it.. he has played tennis and hockey so far, it runs for two weeks each sport.. they also do circuits and get taught about the equipment and skills of the game… he loves to help pack up at the end.. he is a kind hearted little man, caring of others and is slowly learning to use his words and not hurt others with hitting, pinching and scratching.
He sleeps with his doggy and is very good at going to sleep without much help or support.. lately he likes us to stay in his room with him at night as he goes to sleep but fair enough it’s a big room and he is still little but he sleeps all night soundly.. it is lovely to wake to calls of “mummy or daddy” and be greeted with a smile when you go to him… he is still in night nappies and has a day sleep most of the time at home though misses them sometimes at daycare..
His little besties are Harry, Harley and charlotte is a new girl at daycare which they have taken a liking too and play with.. all the pictures from OAC have their little “squad” together…
Will loves his little brother so much and is lately being more considerate and caring for Toby… he will share his food, feed him, play with him, he talks to him like Toby is bigger and asks if Toby would like to play hide and seek, he’ll say “hey Tobes, look at this” and ask him questions that sometimes are way out of Toby’s league at 16mths.. but they find their own way of communicating…
Toby is full of life and beans… he is into EVERYTHING!! If you are not telling to stop playing with power points, it is chasing him out of the kitchen cupboards or taking phone charger cables out of his mouth and telling him to be careful!! He has no fear and throws himself in all or nothing!! He wants to be just like his big brother we suspect and grow up quicker and unfortunately this is what we are seeing…. he understands and followed commands easily… he copies and follows Will cosntantly and so is doing things quicker than Will did… but I guess that’s what it’s like when you have someone teaching you??!!!
He has lots of words he says now and he sounds them out so a lot of things you’ll ask him to say he comes out with sounds that are very similar and could be mistaken for the actual word!! He says shoes, good book, rain, car, truck, hi, bye, hello, daddy, cracker and uses his manners too with prompting… his life is FOMO.. Fear Of Missing Out… he wants in on everything!!
Toby loves his dummy and his milk as well as sleep, he continues with 2 sleeps a day most days and then off to bed with nil troubles at night by 1915hrs normally. He only wakes briefly for a drink of water or can’t find his dummy.. otherwise sleeps all night..
He has been walking since 12mths and now runs though is still quite little so does trip a bit and isn’t zippy like I recall Will to be…but he is a
Great climber and finds his way into many interesting places, including scaling the slippery dip from bottom up!!!
He also eats most things and likes to try anything… he in something on the ground, a scrap of food left on the kitchen floor or trying the shopping trolley handle.. yuk!!! The only thing I’ve found he spits out these days is banana… maybe he takes after me as I’m not a fan either…
He loves daycare and waves us off goodbye with a smile though is always happy to see us in the afternoon!! He loves socializing and saying hello.. he will go to anyone, sit with anyone, talk to anyone… he is a social butterfly and pretty cute little thing so captures the attention of all old ladies, young ladies, old men, young men… you name it he doesn’t discriminate!! Haha.. a beautiful quality, he exudes warmth…
Whilst we have a very busy life day to day with two extremely active boys, we wouldnt have it any other way as they make us laugh, smile and cry… we made them, they are our precious darlings….
